The
Author is seated at a desk composing his moralizing book on foxes.
Outside his window several foxes frolic and provide him with inspiration.
The red border is filled with flowers and jewels strung on a chain.
The coat of arms in the lower margin belongs to Philip le Beau (1478–1506),
the Archduke of Austria who later became king of Castile and Leon.
