The Workshop of Maître François
Wheel
of Fortune. The
blindfolded figure of Fortune holds a wheel on which there are four
human characters. One rises on the left, one sits on top, one falls
on the right, and the fourth is trapped under the wheel. The wheel
illustrates the rise and fall of men's fortunes, and the scrolls
held by the four men read: "I shall reign," "I reign,"
"I have reigned," and "I have no kingdom."
