Book of Hours for Sarum Use (Streeter-Piccard Hours) Flanders, Bruges, c. 1440 Nicholas Brouwer, active 1420 to 1450 Souls Being Borne to Heaven. Two angels hold a sheet filled with naked souls whose hands are clasped in prayer. God and the saints await them in the red cloud of heaven above. Below the lower right corner of the miniature is a round, yellow mark with a "b" inside. This is a stamp that the artist used to identify his work.
