Book of Hours for Sarum Use (Mostyn Hours) England, probably London, c. 1470 Probably Illustrator B of Fitzwilliam Museum 56 Last Judgment. Christ sits in judgment on a rainbow while angels surrounding him blow horns and hold objects related to Christ's Passion (his last days). Awakened from their graves, men and women rise from the earth with their hands clasped in prayer. The vibrant colors used in this miniature and border are heightened by the embossed gold of Christ's halo and the orb at his feet. Philadelphia Museum of Art, Gift of Mrs. Philip S.
